LitWorld $250,000 Matching Grant

Another great nonprofit working to increase literacy is being recognized by the Pearson Foundation: LitWorld, a nonprofit literacy organization fostering resilience, hope, and joy through the power of story, has been selected by the Pearson Foundation as the recipient of a $250,000 matching grant.

Our goal at the Foundation is to identify major changemakers who are creating solutions for the educational disadvantages young people around the world face. There are close to 800 million people in the world that cannot read, yet many are eager to learn. LitWorld is changing worlds through words; their programs and campaigns build self-confidence, promote leadership, and strengthen children and their communities.

To support the good work of LitWorld the Pearson Foundation will match contributions made dollar for dollar up to $250,000. Donate to LitWorld now by clicking here.

Speaking of LitWorld, other news is that LitWorld’s Executive Director, Pam Allyn has a new book, Be Core Ready: Powerful, Effective Steps to Implementing and Achieving the Common Core State Standards. Check it out at www.litworld.org.
