2012 Pearson Fellowship for Social Innovation

More inspiring ideas: Fourteen youth representing eleven countries have received the 2012 Pearson Fellowship for Social Innovation for their innovative community development and youth empowerment projects.

The Fellows were chosen based on the most promising and well-prepared plans developed while participants in TakingITGlobal’s Sprout E-Course—an online social entrepreneurship course that helps young people to imagine, plan, and develop effective and scalable social innovation projects. Guided by mentors, participants developed practical, step-by-step visions for a wide variety of initiatives that addressed issues of economic opportunity, education, health, human rights, access to technology and the environment.

A partnership with TakingITGlobal, the Pearson Fellowship for Social Innovation enables the outstanding participants of Sprout to turn their plans into real-world projects and help build a better future for their communities.

The winners will each receive a $1,000 grant, along with mentoring and training, and strategic tools and resources to help ensure the successful start of their projects. To learn more go to http://sprout.tigweb.org.
