ARTLAB: Mobile Learning Institute at the Hirshhorn
For the latest video from the Mobile Learning Institute check out this video, Digital and Physical: Bringing Life to Art from Artlab Plus. This video gives a great look at the incredible projects teens will create when they are given innovative educational opportunities.
For the past three years, we have been a proud supporter of ARTLAB+, a design studio for teens, hosted through the Mobile Learning Institute at the Smithsonian. ARTLAB+ is part of the public programming at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and offers free workshops and clubs on digital media.
The programs at ARTLAB+ center on youth and their interests, and provide teens with a real world experience of being in a design studio. Participants have access to professionals, museum staff, computers, mobile devices and applications and platforms to help them pursue their interests, produce media, and then share the results with the world.
The Mobile Learning Institute at the Smithsonian aims to bring greater engagement to youth through introducing them to world-class museum collections and expertise, and combining them with the digital media applications and practices that they are familiar with.
