Students Participate in PeaceJam Curriculum

For the past several weeks kindergarten through second grade students from the Battle Creek Public Schools Twenty-First Century Community Learning Centers After School Program (Ann J. Kellogg, Dudley, and Urbandale elementary) have been participating in a special PeaceJam Juniors' curriculum. The curriculum integrates conflict resolution and character development based on childhood stories of Nobel Peace Prize winners and how they came to win the award by making a significant difference in the world. Students have focused their studies on 1976 Nobel Peace Prize Recipient, Betty Williams (above, with children), a woman who helped bring an end to violence in her native Northern Ireland.
